'I APPRECIATE INNOVATIONS CREATED BY THE DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF RELIGIOUS COURTS': CHIEF JUSTICE SAYS

Jakarta - Public Relations MA: The new age of modern court has begun since 2008. The Supreme Court has undergone a revolution in changing its work system which can adapt to technological developments and information in order to provide the best services for justice seekers. The Directorate General of Religious Court Body has shown with all their innovations that they were ready to adapt to the development of technology and information in providing excellent services for the community. “I am impressed and appreciate all the innovations created by the Religious Courts,” said the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Hatta Ali.

This statement was addressed when he officially launched 9 Featured Applications of the Directorate General of the Religious Court Body on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at the Grand Mercure Hotel, Harmoni, Jakarta. The event was attended by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Supreme Court Justices, Echelon 1 and 2 Officials of the Supreme Court, Judges from Religious Courts all over Indonesia, and other invitations.

Responding the statement, the Director-General of the Religious Court Body, Dr. Drs. Aco Nur, S.H., M.H., in his remarks said that the 9 featured applications were a follow-up to the launch of the E-litigation system by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court on August 19, 2019. In addition, this application is also intended for people seeking justice in accessing public services in the Religious Courts, such as the certainty of trial schedules without the need to queue stacking, and easy access to access prodeo (legal aid) services without attaching the relief letter (SKTM) by using the poverty data verification application.

This occasion was also attended by ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Morocco, Iran, House Members of Commission III, and representatives of the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Dr. Aco explained that all religious courts in Indonesia have applied electronic justice (e-court). It was recorded that up to 16 September 2019, there were 12,278 cases registered through e-court. Dr. Aco also said that related to e-litigation, there were courts that became the pilot project of implementing the litigation process through e-litigation. They were Central Jakarta Religious Court for 29 cases, Surabaya Religious Court for 26 cases, East Jakarta Religious Court for 11 cases, and West Jakarta Religious Court for 10 cases.

  1. Application of Case Notification
  2. Application of Case and Product Information in Religious Courts
  3. Application of Court Docket
  4. Application of poverty data verification (in collaboration with AIPJ and TNP2K)
  5. Directorate General of Religious Courts (Badilag) Command center
  6. Application of E-examination
  7. Non-Tax Revenue (PNBP) Application
  8. Electronic Case Register
  9. Electronic Case Finance

At the event that coincided with the 30th anniversary of the birth of the Religious Court Law, besides officially launching nine leading applications, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court also officially launched the book entitled "Realizing the Excellent Religious Courts" written by judges of religious courts. "The launch of the book entitled Realizing the Excellent Religious Court was not only to encourage the literacy culture of judicial apparatus but also to provide the main references concerning problems faced by religious courts and their solutions, as an effort to create a great Indonesian judicial body," Hatta Alli explained which was then greeted with applause from the audience. Finally, Prof. Hatta expected that all of these innovations can be a source of pride and at the same time become a spirit booster for all parties in providing the best services to the community.
